Three weeks ago, Birmingham Weekly columnist Courtney Haden made plain his disappointment with the way Rep. Artur Davis voted on the FISA Amendments Act, the latest re-tooling of Foreign Intelligence Surveillance Act of 1978. Then, in a letter to the editor dated July 2, Davis defended his position, insisting that despite the flaws of the legislation, Davis deemed the statute worthy of his support – as well as that of Barack Obama and Nancy Pelosi.
In this week’s edition, the parley continues between Haden and the representative of Alabama’s 7th Congressional District, with the columnist questioning why Democrats have acceded to propagating the Republican agenda so willingly?
