TAKE A RIDE ON THE READING WITH DOLORES HYDOCK
Darlings, you all know how I love nothing more than dinner and the theatre, (except for a good laugh, of course, and this show has that, too!) and I am thrilled beyond belief to tell you about a wonderful show that is running at Terrific New Theatre, and you simply do NOT want to miss it!
“Take a Ride on the Reading” is a wonderful trip with storyteller extraordinaire Dolores Hydock, taking us all on the journey with her as she goes back to her hometown for several personal reasons, including an undisclosed number high school reunion. I am certain I will not have nearly as much fun at my own high school reunion as I did attending this one with her last Saturday night. It is being performed at the wonderfully intimate space at Terrific New Theatre located at Pepper Place, but then, I am sure that I didn’t have to tell you where it is, because you are devoted APT.bham weekly.2.12.12_Layout 1 2/7/12 2/7/12 12:01 PM Page 1 theatre patrons, for which we are ever so grateful.
Now, I am no theatre reviewer, all I can tell you is how much I enjoyed this show, as did the entire sold out audience, and you just have to trust me on this. Have I ever lead you astray before? Never! And you can rest assured that I never will, any more than I would let one of my girlfriends wander into some bad lighting.
Make sure to check out the schedule of performances as well as ticket information on TNT’s website at www.terrificnewtheatre.com as well as Dolores Hydock’s schedule for other upcoming performances on her website at www.storypower.org Dolores Hydock is a master at drawing you in and creating such a vivid visual picture that you literally experience the adventure with her. And it is an adventure, and one that you want to make sure and get your tickets to, as it pulls out of the station February 11th at 8:00 PM. All aboard!
And One More Thing, ETC. There is another show that is wrapping up this weekend that I feel I must inform you of, darling readers, since I know this is where you come for all of your information on all things fabulous going on here in our culturally rich city. It is the Extemporaneous Theatre Company’s (ETC) show “Vulcan’s Underpants”, a short form improv show being performed at Theatre Downtown.
I haven’t been to this show yet, myself, what with raising a family, working hard to bring laughter and joy into your lives, and spending time thinking, which I have been accused of doing. But, I do intend to try and get by there because I have heard some really funny things about this show and I want to see them for myself. I hope I see you all out there!
