Veterans park features a professionally developed cross-country course for walking and jogging and is host each year to the Great American Cross Country Race. The park also hosts such annual events as Hoover's own Pet-a-Palooza and Movies in the Park. A large, open grassy area and a two-acre lake with pier accomodate large crowds on evenings and weekends.
