Sen.Jeff Sessions went on the offensive this morning against U.S. Supreme Court nominee Sonia Sotomayor.
In interviews leading up to the hearing today, Sessions said he would give the nominee a fair hearing, but his 10-minute statement argued emphatically that she should not be confirmed. In particular, Sessions took issue with Sotomayor's "wise Latina" comments and arguments that diversity among the federal judiciary was a good thing. Sessions is the ranking Republican on the Senate Judiciary Committee. Previously: Sessions swipes key committee seat
