"Brat Pack" films of the 1980s will be shown at the Alabama Theatre every Thursday night through March 12. Whereas other classic movie screenings at the "Showplace of the South" are usually preceded by sing-alongs on the Mighty Wurlitzer, these special movie events get started with the Hill Arts Center inside the Alabama turning into an '80s-inspired lounge for a happy hour prior to each 8 p.m. screening. The series started with The Breakfast Club and Ferris Bueller's Day Off. The rest of the lineup is as follows:
Feb. 26 '96 Sixteen Candles
March 5 '96 St. Elmo's Fire
March 12 '96 Dirty Dancing
Happy hour in the Hill Arts Center runs 6-8 p.m. and movies start at 8 p.m. Admission is $7. For more information, call (205) 251-0418 or go to www.alabamatheatre.com
