On Friday, November 14, Workplay will be exhibit-A for the musical talent that lies within our city limits. The White Oaks will hold a CD release party with John P. Strohm and Through The Sparks opening the 8:30 p.m. show. Forming in 2007, The White Oaks includes members Noel Johnson, Scott Thrift, Matt Jackson and Michael Glaser. The band has been heard on the nationally-syndicated radio program Reg's Coffeehouse and featured on the local radio program Tapestry.
Vocalist/guitarist Strohm holds a musical pedigree that is second to none, having given his talents to several national acts - most notably The Lemonheads and The Blake Babies - in addition to his solo work. He mixes power-pop, indie rock and singer-songwriter elements to create a distinct'a0 - yet familiar - sound. Through The Sparks has been a fixture in the local music scene for four years and has garnered a loyal following.
Tickets are $10 and can be purchased at www.workplay.com or by calling 380-4082.
