Formed in 1945, National Veterans Day in Birmingham is a non-profit organization that hosts the longest-running (and one of the largest) Veterans Day celebrations in the nation. This year's parade features dozens of civic and community organizations as well as hundreds of members of active, reserve and national guard forces. Step-off is 1:30 p.m. at 19th Street and Eighth Avenue North and the parade route is as follows:
South on 19th Street to Fifth Avenue North
East on Fifth Avenue to 22nd Street
South on 22nd Street to Second Avenue North
West on Second Avenue to 18th Street
North on 18th Street to Sixth Avenue North
