Bela Fleck Okay, for this Thursday I have chosen a show at the Alys Stephens Center. Bela Fleck will be performing with his banjo which he has been able to master in many different genres of music. Fleck has played everywhere from Bonnaroo to Carnegie Hall. This should turn out to be a very good show with a lot of interesting and entertaining performances and music. Tickets start at just $32 and go up to $52. The show starts at 8pm.

Katt Williams Experience. The always funny and energetic comedian Katt Williams will be in town tonight at the BJCC. This stand-up vet has done a couple HBO specials and been touring for years. He has also appeared in several movies and TV shows such as “Wild n’ Out.” There is sure to be a big crowd so make sure you arrive early enough. The show starts at 8pm and with fees included tickets come to roughly $63. Pimp down!

Ron White “They call me, Tater Salad.” This weekend we have been lucky enough to not have one but two big name comedic acts performing here in B’ham.
Without a doubt one of my favorite comedians Ron “Tater Salad” White will be getting lots of laughs at the Alabama Theatre. White is probably best known or at least got his largest initial exposure on the “Blue Comedy Tour” with Jeff Foxworthy. Personally I love his stand up and given the fact he has been one of the top 3 grossing acts in the last five years this show is sure to sell out. The show starts at 7pm but the box office will open at 5:30. Tickets range from $54 to $65 each. Bust out the Cohiba’s and top shelf Scotch because it’s going to be a great show.

Larry Moore, The Magic Man Another fun event for the kids tonight at the Hoover Library, Magician Larry “The Magic Man” Moore will be holding a free show tonight at 6:30 pm. The show is recommended for kids of all ages and will feature of course magic but also balloon sculpting, juggling and comedy! So grab the kids a happy meal and head over to the Hoover Library.

Specials! Okay tonight just going to keep it simple and head up to Tavern at the Summit and get some good food and good wine.
Having consumed copious amounts of alcohol during the Championship weekend in New Orleans I think it is finally safe again to have a drink tonight. Half priced bottles are the allure at Tavern at the Summit on Wednesday’s but one should always make room for their food menu as well. My personal favorite is the Prime Rib Po-boy on French baguette bread with horseradish, au jus and sautéed mushrooms. Add to that a $13 bottle of Mark West Pinot Noir and that’s a wrap!

I picked this day to head out to the Southern Museum of Flight but really any day would be a good one to go check it out. I went for the first time only a few weeks ago and man it was very interesting. My favorite exhibit is relatively new and is that of a Huey helicopter gunship which tells the story of the uncommon valor and bravery of Troop C, 16th Cavalry Regiment during an engagement with the enemy during the Vietnam conflict. SMoF is a really neat museum and if you haven’t seen it then you should definitely schedule a trip on your calendar. Tell you what, email me at Jordan@bhamweekly.com if you like the “8 Days” column and the first five emails will each get a pair of tickets to check out the Southern Museum of Flight.
