The AWC hosts an ongoing series of nature programs called “Audubon Teaches Nature.” The next installment, scheduled for Sunday, Oct. 18, at 1:30 p.m., is “An Introduction to the Spiders of Alabama.”
Visitors will meet at the AWC for cider and cookies (yummy!) and then enjoy a stroll around the park looking for creepy-crawlies. You are urged to bring binoculars and field guides. The program is free after regular park admission.
The other series sponsors are Oak Mountain Interpretive Center and Friends of Oak Mountain State Park. For information, visit www.awrc.org or call (205) 663-7930.
